Sell cover your customers can understand, and pay claims they can follow.

Cover from licensed insurers, sold, paid and claimed inside your app.

Why it matters

What it will change.

Most of your customers have no insurance, and the few who do bought it on paper, from an agent, with no idea how to claim. The cover exists; buying it, paying for it and claiming on it is the problem.

Insurance on Bridge will put licensed insurers' products inside your app: one catalogue, a quote with the premium, fees and tax on separate lines, payment from the customer's wallet with their PIN, and certificates, renewals and claims in the same place. Bridge won't underwrite anything. The insurer carries the cover, and the customer sees which insurer before they pay.

If you're a licensed insurer yourself, you'll be able to run your own book on Bridge: design products, price them, and handle claims with reserves and two-person approval of payouts.

How it works

Step by step.

  1. List products

Connect a licensed insurer and choose which of its products your customers will see.

  2. Quote

The customer fills a form built from the product's own fields, prefilled from their profile, and sees every part of the price.

  3. Pay and confirm

The premium will be debited from the wallet and held; cover starts only when the insurer confirms, and a refusal is refunded in full.

  4. Service

Certificates, renewals (automatic if the customer chooses, up to a limit they set) and cancellations, all in one list.

  5. Claim

Claims will be started in the app, with documents uploaded and every step shown, and paid to the wallet.

What it will do

Built in, not bolted on.

One catalogue

Products from several insurers side by side, each showing what is and isn't covered.

Prices shown in parts

Premium, fees and tax on separate lines, before the customer pays.

Held, never lost

If an insurer's answer is slow, the premium stays held and is checked until there's a final answer.

Claims with a trail

Documents, status and the insurer's decision, with an appeal when the customer disagrees.

Cover where it fits

Credit life on loans, device cover on rentals and buy-now-pay-later, group cover for employers.

Policies held elsewhere

Customers will record cover they already have, and get a reminder before it runs out.

  • One catalogue across insurers: health, life, motor, gadget, travel and more
  • Quotes with premium, fees and tax shown apart, prefilled from the customer's profile
  • Premiums paid from the wallet, held until the insurer confirms
  • Claims, certificates, renewals and cancellations in one place
  • Cover attached to loans, rentals and group schemes for employers

A ride-hailing app for drivers in Lagos · Fintechs & neobanks

Motor cover that renews itself

Drivers need third-party motor cover to work, and every year some of them let it lapse because renewing means a trip to an agent.

  1. The app will list third-party motor cover from a licensed insurer
  2. Drivers will buy it from their wallet with their PIN
  3. The certificate will be in the app the moment the insurer confirms
  4. Renewal will run automatically, up to a limit each driver sets

Drivers will stay covered without thinking about it, and the app will see who is and isn't.

A microfinance bank in Ibadan · Lenders & BNPL

Credit life on every loan

When a borrower dies, the family inherits the debt and the bank writes it off. Credit life cover exists, but adding it by hand to every loan never happens.

  1. The bank will attach credit life cover to its loan product
  2. The premium will be added to each loan and shown to the borrower
  3. The cover will follow the loan's balance
  4. A claim will settle the outstanding balance with the bank

Families won't inherit the loan, and the bank won't carry the loss.

A manufacturer with about 200 staff in Kano · Fintechs & neobanks

Group cover for a workforce

The company wants to give its staff group life cover, shared between employer and employee, without a broker's spreadsheet every month.

  1. The company will set up a group scheme with a licensed insurer
  2. It will choose who pays: the company, the staff, or both
  3. Each member's share will be collected each month
  4. Members will see their cover in their own app

Staff will have cover they can see, and the company will have one scheme instead of a spreadsheet.

What it won't do

Honest limits.

  • Bridge won't underwrite: a licensed insurer carries every risk.
  • Insurer-run products need the insurer's licence on record first.

Questions about insurance

Will Bridge be the insurer?

No. A licensed insurer carries the cover. Bridge sells, collects and services it, and every customer sees which insurer before paying.

What happens if the insurer doesn't answer?

The premium stays held and Bridge keeps checking. Cover starts only when the insurer confirms, and the premium is refunded in full if it refuses.

Can we run our own insurance products?

If you're a licensed insurer, yes: once your licence is on record, you'll be able to design, price and publish products, and handle claims yourself.

When will insurance be available?

It's being built now. Talk to us about the cover you'd like to offer and we'll tell you where it stands.
