Bridge Payments · Escrow

Take the money now. Release it when the deal is done.

Open an escrow agreement, or collect straight into one. The money is held in its own ledger account that both sides can see. Each stage is released when both sides approve it, and a dispute goes to your operators, never to a timer.

How it works

One agreement, four states.

  1. Open the agreement

Payee, amount, what it's for, a deliver-by date, and stages if the deal is big.

  2. Fund it

The buyer pays in on a collection rail. The money lands in the agreement's own ledger account.

  3. Deliver

The seller marks the stage delivered.

  4. Release or dispute

Both sides approve and that stage is released. A dispute goes to your operators.

What you get

Escrow, on Bridge.

Stages

Each stage has its own amount and its own approval.

Visible to both sides

The seller can see the money is there before shipping; neither side can move it alone.

Escrow-backed collection

Collect straight into an agreement, on the rails you've switched on.

Disputes go to people

Your operators decide: everything to the seller, or everything back to the buyer.

No timer moves money

A passed deliver-by date flags the agreement for your operators. It never releases or refunds on its own.

Every change is an event

escrow.created, funded, gate_passed, released, disputed and refunded, signed.

Stages

Big deals, a step at a time.

Rent on inspection and on handover. Equipment on delivery and on installation. Each stage is released on its own, and the rest stays held.

For developers

Open an escrow agreement.

Gates are the stages: each has a name, an amount and the criteria for passing it.

Questions about escrow

Can money be released automatically?

No. Money moves only when people approve it. A passed deliver-by date flags the agreement for your operators.

Who decides a dispute?

Your operators, with the agreement's history in front of them. The decision is all to the seller or all back to the buyer, never a split.

Which rails can fund an agreement?

The collection rails you've switched on: bank transfer to a virtual account, wallet or agent cash.
