Why the account name is checked

When you enter an account number, Bridgemoni asks the bank who the account belongs to and shows you the name, before any money moves.

Why it matters

One wrong digit can send money to a stranger, and money sent to the wrong account is slow and hard to get back. Checking the name catches that before it happens.

What to do

• The name is right. Carry on.
• The name is different from what you expected. Stop and check the account number with the person you’re paying.
• No name comes back. The number may be wrong, or the bank may not be answering. Check the number and try again in a moment.
