A separate pot for the people a customer supports, with asks and limits.

Why it matters

What it changes for you.

Most working Nigerians send money to someone every month: a parent, a sibling in school, a relative with a hospital bill. It comes out of the same account as rent and groceries, so it's hard to plan and easy to overspend.

Family support gives each customer a pot apart from their everyday money. They top it up, add the people they support (on your platform or at any bank, name-checked), record what they've promised each person, and send with their PIN. Relatives on your platform can ask for money; your customer agrees or declines.

A monthly ceiling, pause and auto top-up keep it within what they can afford, and they always see what they promised against what they actually sent.

How it works

Step by step.

  1. Open a pot

One per currency, funded from the customer's main account and kept apart from it.

  2. Add people and promises

Relatives on your platform or any bank account, name-checked, each with what the customer means to give.

  3. Send with a PIN

Every send from the pot is approved with the customer's own PIN.

  4. Answer asks

Relatives on your platform can ask for money; the customer agrees with their PIN or declines.

  5. Keep it within reach

A monthly ceiling, pause and resume, and auto top-up from the main account.

What you can switch on

Built in, not bolted on.

Promised against sent

Every person shows what was promised a month and what was actually given, so nothing is forgotten or doubled.

Asks instead of calls

A relative asks in the app with a reason; the customer answers when it suits them.

Names checked

Bank recipients are name-checked before they're saved, so money goes to the right person.

A PIN on every send

Nothing leaves the pot without the customer's own approval.

A ceiling they set

A monthly limit on what the pot can give, so supporting family doesn't sink the month.

Auto top-up

The pot refills from the main account on a schedule, ready for the promises that recur.

  • A pot apart from everyday money
  • People, promises and what was sent
  • Asks from relatives, answered with a PIN
  • Monthly ceilings and auto top-up

A neobank for young professionals in Lagos · Fintechs & neobanks

Monthly support for parents and siblings

Customers send to family from their main balance and often lose track of what they've sent and to whom. Some send twice; some forget.

  1. Customers open a family pot and add their people
  2. They record a monthly promise for each
  3. Auto top-up moves the total into the pot on payday
  4. They send from the pot with their PIN, and see promised against sent

Family support becomes a planned line in the month, not a surprise, and customers know exactly where they stand with each person.

Requests from home, answered on time

Relatives call or message whenever they need money, and the customer has to stop what they're doing to send it. Some requests get lost.

  1. Relatives on the app ask for money with a reason
  2. The customer sees each ask in one place
  3. They agree with their PIN, or decline with a note
  4. The pot's ceiling stops asks from exceeding the month's plan

Relatives have one place to ask, customers answer on their own time, and the ceiling keeps it affordable.

A pot for a sibling's school year

An older sister pays her brother's university fees, hostel and upkeep across the year. It all comes out of her salary, and she can never tell how much she has spent on him so far.

  1. She adds her brother with a monthly upkeep promise
  2. Fees and hostel are sent from the pot as they fall due
  3. Every send is recorded against him
  4. At the end of the session she sees the year's total

She knows what supporting her brother actually costs, and can plan next year with real figures.

Questions about family support

Can relatives see the customer's balance?

No. A relative sees their own requests and what they've received, not the pot or the customer's account.

Can the pot send to someone who isn't on our platform?

Yes, to any Nigerian bank account, name-checked before it's saved.

How is the pot closed?

At a zero balance, from the pot's settings.
